The Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Oklahoma City Thunder, Nikola Jokić of Denver Nuggets and Giannis Antetokoun of Milwaukee Bucks were appointed finalists for the NBA 2025 MVP, according to information published by the League and shared on TNT on Sunday.
A hundred media members covering the NBA decide seven individual prizes as well as three all-NBA teams, two defensive teams from all the leagues and two All-Rookie teams. Individual prices winners will be announced on TNT during the coverage of network qualifying series in the coming weeks.
Among the most publicized prices, Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors and the Dyson Dyson of the Atlanta are finalists for the defensive player of the year; The Payton Pritchard des Boston Celtics, Ty Jerome de Cleveland and Malik Beasley of the Detroit Pistons are finalists for the sixth man of the year; And Stephon des San Antonio castle, the Zaccharie Risacher of Atlanta and Jaylen Wells, the finalists for the recruit of the year.

Jokić, the reigning MVP which won the prize three times, tries to join Lebron James and Wilt Chamberlain as a winning quadrules. It was its best season statistically, on average summit in career in points (29.6 ppg), rebounds (12.7 RPG) and assists (10.2 APG).
Gilgeous-Alexander was not just the top scorer in the NBA with 32.7 points per game, but he was the best player for the best team in the League. Antetokounmpo, a MVP twice, raised an average of 30.4 points and 11.9 boards, but the MVP race – the highest individual distinction in the league in the regular season – should be between Jokić and Gilgeous -Alexander.
There is no obvious first cycle for the best defensive player in the league. The finalists of the other three individual prices are:
- Coach of the year: Kenny Atkinson of Cleveland Cavaliers, JB Bickerstaff of Detroit Pistons and Ime Udoka by Houston Rockets.
- Clutch player of the year: Jalen Brunson of New York Knicks, Anthony Edwards of Minnesota Timberwolves and Jokić of the Nuggets.
- Most improved player: Cade Cunningham de Detroit Pistons, Ivica Zubac de la Clippers and Daniels des Hawks.
On Saturday, Atkinson was appointed coach of the year in the NBA by the professional association the representative as well as the 29 other coaches of the League. He is one of the few coaches in the history of the League to win at least 60 games in his first season as a coach.
