But is it a step too far?
Chelsea was marked that “mentality monsters” came from behind several times en route to win domestic silverware.
They were six points behind WSL leaders, Manchester City – with a worst difference in goals – with three games to play last season, but have always obtained a fourth successive title.
A winner in time of Aggie Beever-Jones last week helped them to beat Liverpool to reach the FA Cup female final.
And they shot a deficit of 2-0 in the first leg in the quarterfinals of the Champions League of this season, eliminating City to organize the last meeting with Barcelona.
It will take something special to remove the 4-1 score with Barça-but can they do it?
“It’s a difficult task, a task that is probably too big for Chelsea to overthrow,” said Williams.
“If you watch Manchester City’s match in the quarter -final, there was a little hope for Chelsea but the way it took place (against Barcelona), I don’t think it gives Chelsea a hope of turning the tie.
“Chelsea will have to find a way to bounce mentally. This is something they did not suffer under Sonia Bompastor.
“Is it out of reach? I think yes. But who knows what this side of Chelsea can do?”
A player who certainly believes is the defender of Chelsea Lucy Bronze.
The English international won three consecutive titles in the Champions League with Lyon before helping Barcelona to consecutive successes in the competition.
She was full -time emotional, occupying the front of the stage in the BALDE team and transmitting a passionate message to her teammates.
“We have to keep the ball better. We can attack them with more quality and more composure,” said Bronze in Dazn thereafter.
“You saw how easy it was for us to score the goal we did. It was probably our only moment of attack and a goal came.
“If we have more of these opportunities, Barça is a team that you can hurt during the transition – and we are good in transition.
“We have already shown in the Champions League that we can win 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, so we have that in us.”
