A man who, according to the police, was “erratic” and bit an officer during his arrest underwent a medical emergency and died early Sunday on Sunday, according to the authorities.
A Fullerton police officer first spotted the man around 12:31 p.m. after the end hours at Lemon Park, according to a press release. The police said that the man seemed to hold a cover with a brooding cardboard and “acting erratic”.
While more and more agents arrived, police said that the man had become un cooperative and began to resist physically. Other officers were called upon to provide assistance and, according to the ministry, it took several to take control of man and place it in constraints.
Police said that the police took the man in police custody, he “violently bit an officer on his arm causing injuries”.
Fullerton’s fire service responded to treat both the suspect and the officer. Several minutes later, according to the press release, the beginner seemed to have a medical emergency. The police said that paramedical paramedics began rescue measures and took the man – who has not yet been identified – to a neighboring hospital, where he was declared dead.
The officer who was bitten was treated in a hospital and released, according to the department.
Investigators from the Orange County District Prosecutor Office responded for an independent investigation into the death, according to the police service.
