The Marlins announced a series of list movements this morning. Left -handed Gibson Cade and inner field player Ronny Simon were both promoted to the majors. Outfall Griffin Conine Was placed on the 60 -day injured list with a dislocated left shoulder, and Lefty Patrick Monteverde was appointed for assignment. Fish on the Farm first pointed out Gibson’s call, while Mike Rodriguez was the first to report the promotion of Simon. Barry Jackson of Miami Herald was the first to point out that Conine was heading for the 60 -day IL.
The placement of Conine on the shelf is hardly a surprise since his injury was announced last night. However, it should be noted that the outfall will be absent for at least the next two months. An exact calendar for his return has not yet been made available, because Jackson reports that even if Conine will come out for a while, it is not yet clear if he will need surgery or if his season is in danger. Marlins use Javier Sanoja in the left field today in the absence of Conine, with Kyle Stowers stay on the right and a peloton of Jesus Sanchez And Dane Myers Still of the central field.
The replacement of Conine on the list is Simon, who could theoretically participate in the club’s left field mixture alongside Sanoja despite the work mainly as an inner field player over the years.
