Crews Dylan (WSN): 3-5, 2b, 2 h, 4 R, 4 RBI.
It was not exactly an ideal start for the career of Dylan Crews.
The overall choice n ° 2 of the MLB 2023 recovery made its debut at the MLB with the Nationals last year, but the results were a little disappointing. In 132 plates appearances, he posted an oblique bar of .218 / .288 / .353 with a .641 ops. He showed some lightnings of power with three circuits, and he stole 12 bases. That said, a large part of its fantastic value in fantastic projects during past off -season was based on its formerly massive media.
This year, his difficulties were even more amplified.
The oblique bar of the crew is only 0.177 / .215 / .290, and its ops are 0.505 in 65 plaques appearances. Its rate K increased from 19.7% to 30%, and its walking rate increased from 8.3% in 2024 to 5.0% this season. Thus, it is not surprising that the fantasy managers who can be in panic mode, especially if they have spent a high choice of recovery or a plethora of auction dollars for the old LSU product.
Saturday may have been a step in the right direction for the crews. Against a team of rocky in difficulty (they are 3-16 years old), the crews collected three strokes, two circuits, four points produced and scored four points. It was a beautiful demonstration of power of a striker who struck 13 circuits in 100 games in the Nationals National League system in 2024.
On a positive note, the power of the crews and the capacity of the ball struck have been encouraging, even if its rate of withdrawal and walking are not.
Its barrel rate is 7.7% (6.4% last year), its Sweet spot rate is 28.2% (23.4% last year), and Sound .363 XWOBA CON is only five points less than its brand a season. The hard -hit rate needs work, because its 30.8% brand represents a decrease of 13.9% compared to 2024. However, barrels show that crews can transform its line of statistics once it has understood decision -making on the plate.
This can be a crazy race for crews this season, which can make the fantasy officials who align it, especially if they struggle very early with their team. However, the Nationals undergo a movement for young people not only with crews, but James Wood, Jacob Young and Mackenzie Gore. He will probably receive a lot of bats, whatever his performance.
Thus, the 23-year-old voltiseur may not be everyone’s tea cup, even with the huge and long-term upside down he has as a fantastic baseball player.
Let’s see how the other strikers did on Saturday.
Mickey Moniak (Col): 2-3, 3B, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI, BB.
The Rockies have lost, but Moniak’s performance should not be overlooked because he hit a triple and his third home run of the year. After being released by the angels, Moniak made a new start in Colorado, and he bears fruit. In 49 appearances on the plates, it strikes .256 with a .952 OPS and scored 10 points with the Rockies this year.
Ramón Laureano (Ball): 2-4, 2 h, 2 R, 3 RBI.
Laureano was an important catalyst in the nine days of Orioles against Hunter Greene and the Reds pitch staff. He struck his second and third home circuits of the year during their 9-5 victory. He only strikes. 190 for the year, but his ops are 0.846 thanks to a slugging .619. The 30-year-old voltiseur may not yet be a fantastic option, but he could soon be if he obtains this average.
Liam Hicks (Mia): 4-5, HR, R, 4 RBI.
It was on Saturday “welcome to the majors” of Hicks. The recipient recruited collected four strokes against a good team of Phillies and struck his first circuit of the MLB, a shot of two points which obtained the Marlins in one. Miami failed Philadelphia 11-10, but the Marlins may have found an intriguing backup receiver in the 25-year-old Arkansas state product.
Jake Fraley (Cin): 1-2, HR, 2 R, RBI, 3 bb.
Is a “rebound” from Fraley imminent? After hitting 15 circuits in 380 plaques appearances in 2023, the Reds voltiseur only reached five in 382 last year. It is a surprise since he plays in one of the most friendly ball parks in baseball. On Saturday, he struck his second home run of the year, and his barrel rate (5.4%) and his hard rate (32.4%) are back at levels similar to what he produced in 2023. The overtaking of the five -hour bar a year should be easy if he is healthy.
Fernando Tatis (SDP): 2-4, HR, 2 R, RBI, SB.
Another night, another strong fantastic performance of Tatis. Against the Astros on Saturday, Tatis struck its seventh circuit, stole its seventh base and collected two strokes, improving its average at 0.351 for the year. With an OPS of 1.063 in 89 plates appearances, the Slugger de Padres, 26, could be on the verge of a MVP NL campaign this season.
Pete Alonso (Nym): 2-4, 2b, HR, R, 2 RBI.
Remember when it seemed that Alonso would leave the Queens? It did not happen, and fans of food could not be more grateful. The 30 -year -old first goal player was the best dishes by a significant margin this year, an exploit not facilitated by the presence of Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto also in the programming. In 90 appearances, he strikes .356 with a 1,220 ops, and against the cardinals on Saturday, he struck his sixth circuit of the year.
Alex Verdugo (ATL): 4-5, 2 2b, 2 R, RBI.
Atlanta is 2-0 with Verdugo in the programming and 5-13 when it is not. It could be a coincidence (or more because they play twins at home). Nevertheless, the figures do not lie, and Verdugo was a nice shock for a range of Atlanta which started the cold year on the plate. On Saturday, he harvested four strokes, including two doubles. With an average of .400 and 1,000 ops, the old dodgers, the Red Sox and the Yankees could be a beautiful bat at the top of the range to Ronald Acuña Jr. returns.
Ben Williamson (SEA): 2-6, 2b, HR, 2 R, RBI.
He had only 20 appearances on the plates, but Williamson made a name for himself in the Northwest Pacific. During the 8-4 victory from Seattle to Toronto, the third 24-year-old base player struck his first circuit from the major league. As was the case last year, the navies had trouble starting the season. Maybe the recruit field player can help them get out of their funk for the rest of the season (he has certainly done it today).
Mike Trout (Laa): 2-3, 2 h, 2 R, 2 RBI.
Regardless of the age of trout (he is 33 years old, which seems too young). He is the “best anywhere, the best there is, and the best” (Sorry, Wrestlemania Weekend). Well, he only strikes. 192, so maybe the last two statements can be a section. However, Saturday’s performance reminded fantastic baseball fans what trout can do healthy. He launched two bombs, his fifth and sixth of the year. The longtime angel is perhaps a guy of “three real results” at this stage of his career. However, this is not a bad offensive profile, especially with so many other talented bats around him this season.
