- My husband and I spent $ 1,050 in three nights iconic Hollywood Roosevelt in California.
- The historic hotel is located in the center in Hollywood, with amazing architecture and a large swimming pool.
- Although our room is small, our stay seemed to be a great value. I can’t wait to come back.
I often try to stay in historic hotels when I travel, because I prefer charm to modern (and often boring) design of many new ones.
Recently, my husband and I made a long weekend in one of the most historic hotels in Los Angeles: The Hollywood Roosevelt.
Located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and opposite the famous TCL Chinese Theater, the hotel dates back to 1927 and has been renovated over the years.
Member of historic Hotels of America, he bears the name of the American president Theodore Roosevelt and was built by a group of professionals in the film industry.
The Hollywood Roosevelt would also have regularly organized many famous stars, including Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Temple and Clark Gable.
Here’s what our stay at the Glamor Hotel looked like.
The big hall seemed to transport me over time.

From the moment I entered the big hall, I felt like I was going into history. The hotel was opulent, with bad mood colors, leather seats, ornate ceilings, opulent columns and brilliant tiles everywhere.
I couldn’t help imagining the many notable people who spent time in this space.
Checking in our room was a breeze.

The Hollywood Roosevelt has a range of parts to reserve, including developed suites inspired by Marilyn Monroe which neglect the swimming pool.
For the last minute stay with my husband, I chose the most basic accommodation, a superior bedroom with a Queen bed.
The recording was fast and easy, and our total for three nights amounted to around $ 1,050.
Our room was compact but charming.
Carly Caramanna
Our upper bedroom was around 250 square feet and included a Queen canopy bed and minimal furniture.
He had a sophisticated feeling with hardwood floors, a flat -screen TV and a work office. There was also a minibar and other goods available for purchase.
The space was quite compact, but that’s exactly what I expect from a hotel in the center of a city.
The bathroom was also small, but was more than sufficient.
Carly Caramanna
The hotel was built in the 1920s, at a time when the bathrooms were not necessarily as large as they are today. I thought it would be the case in this historic property, so I was not particularly disappointed with our small bathroom.
Although it was decorated little, it was more than enough. The shower pressure was great and I appreciated the luxurious soaps provided.
Then I spent time at the pool.
Carly Caramanna
The large area of the hotel tropicana swimming pool was reserved for hotel customers.
I found tons of loungers, as well as design elements inspired by the 1960s, such as colorful tiles. The bottom of the pool even presented a mural painted by the English artist David Hockney.
Bordered by palm trees, it was hard to believe that the lively Hollywood boulevard was a few steps away.
I enjoyed a cocktail by the pool.
Carly Caramanna
By setting up at the swimming pool, I took advantage of the cocktail service on the delays and access to an appointment bar.
My drink at $ 20 was delicious and I liked sipping it as a live DJ.
The land was also fun to explore.
Carly Caramanna
My favorite part of my stay was simply to walk around and explore the property.
I particularly liked to see a statue of the legend of the silent film Charlie Chaplin, who would have been a frequent guest of the Hollywood Roosevelt.
The hotel also houses a historic theater.
Carly Caramanna
During my walk in the property, I came across the Cinegrill theater.
The Cabaret, hidden behind an unpretentious library, dates back to the 1930s and was known as a meeting place for the A-Batters. The intimate theater continues to organize performance today.
I spent my evening at the hall bar.
Carly Caramanna
I was really excited to discover the hall bar at night. He had intimate vibrations, and I was able to hang a seat at the bar.
The cocktail menu was well balanced, with a range of classic mixed drinks, wine and champagne. I opted for a Martini Expresso at a price of $ 20.
I can’t wait to come back.
Carly Caramanna
Staying at Hollywood Roosevelt was like going back in the best way. Each space I encountered sucked opulence and grandeur.
Although he had an old -fashioned charm, he also had equipment that I expected as a modern traveler, from drinking service by the pool on a TV in my room.
There was a lot to do and see on the property – I particularly appreciated the swimming pool – and the hotel is also conveniently close to neighboring attractions, such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In addition, although it is in the heart of Hollywood, the hotel still managed to feel like a private and quiet oasis.
The price we paid, about $ 350 per night looked like a flight for a stay in such a special place.
