The Dodgers announced this morning that they had appointed the outfiter Eddie Rosario For assignment. This decision comes to create a list point for Shohei OhtaniWho returns to the club of the paternity list after he and his wife announced the birth of their daughter yesterday on social networks.
Rosario, 33, has always thought of being a temporary addition to the list of Dodgers. Now a veteran of 11 MLB seasons, Rosario has spent the first part of his MLB career as an effective and reliable corner bat for twins. He reduced .277 / .310 / .478 on 697 twins uniform games, good for a 106 WRC + which jumped at 112 by only looking at his last four seasons with the team. During this section from 2017 to 2020, Rosario showed a coherent power of 25 counterparts and associated it with an impressive 16.5% withdrawal rate of 16.5%. This allowed him to offer a precious mixture of power and contact.
Over the years since then, however, Rosario has been a sometimes solid but largely inconsistent striker. Playing for Cleveland, Atlanta and DC from 2021 to 2024, Rosario only reduced .231 / .278 / .396 (82 WRC +) overall while its withdrawal rate increased to 21.6% while its power reduced significantly. The seasons of 2021 and 23 saw Rosario play at an average level almost overall with a 100 WRC + in the two seasons, with lightning of pop of 20 homs, which makes him a capable batter despite the increase in the withdrawal rate. 2022 saw it badly on the set (63 WRC +) due to vision problems which were finally corrected, while its flat problems (45 WRC +) in 2024 came despite that it is generally healthy.
More to come.
