Barcelona confirmed that Robert Lewandowski was out of service with an injury to the hamstrings folded in the 4-3 victory against Celta Vigo on Sunday at La Liga.
The top scorer in La Liga was forced after 78 minutes from the match, with first reports suggesting that he would miss a few weeks with a tear in the hamstrings.
Barcelona has now offered an update after the veteran suffered from other tests on the injury.
Here is the official declaration of the club:
“The tests carried out on Sunday confirmed that the player of the first team Robert Lewandowski had a left semitininosus injury. His return will be determined by his progress.”
The injury arrives at a very bad time for Barcelona and Lewandowski. We think he will be absent for about three weeks and will miss huge matches, including the final of the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick will now have to modify this team without Lewandowski. The obvious change would be to bring Ferran Torres who scored 17 goals for Barcelona this season in all competitions.
