An Israeli soldier was killed and five others were injured, three of which seriously, during an attack on Hamas in the north of the Gaza Strip on Saturday afternoon, the army announced.
The killed soldier was appointed assistant G’Haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, tracker of the northern brigade of the Gaza division, of Rahat.
He was the first soldier to be killed in Gaza since the Israeli defense forces resumed his offensive against Hamas in the strip on March 18.
The fatal incident took place during the operations of the 252nd division near Beit Hanoun de Northern Gaza. The division had worked to clean the area near the border of Hamas infrastructure, including tunnels, as part of efforts to extend the stamp area of Israel – which now represents more than 30% of the band.
According to an initial tsahal probe, at 12:58 p.m., a group of soldiers leading along an FDI logistical road, near an army camp inside Gaza, was criticized by Hamas agents. The agents, who had come out of a tunnel tree, launched an RPG to the army vehicle without an army.

Three service services, from the 414th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit, were injured in the attack on the RPG. Two of them, an officer and a combat doctor, were listed in serious condition.
Shortly after, the rescue forces led by the commander of the northern brigade of the Gaza division, Colonel Omri Mashiah, reached the premises, as well as trackers of the brigade.
At 1:25 p.m., according to the investigation, Hamas agents sparked an explosive device on the side of a road, near rescue forces, killing Alnasasra and injuring two other trackers, one seriously.
The FDI has made a wave of strikes in the region to try to eliminate the agents behind the attack, the army said.
The death of Annasasra has shot Israel in the soil offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the gang at 411. The toll includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission and two civil entrepreneurs from the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier on Saturday, the FDI said that during the weekend, the Israeli Air Force had made air strikes on more than 150 targets in the Gaza Strip, including the cells of terrorist agents and Hamas infrastructure.
Since March 18, when Israel has resumed its offensive against Hamas, the FDI said it had reached more than 1,400 targets in Gaza.
The 282nd Artillery Regiment has also struck dozens of targets in recent weeks, in the Morag corridor area between Rafah and Khan Younis in the south of the strip. The FDIs said that the targets affected by artillery bombings included arms deposits, rocket launch sites and agents.
Still during the weekend, the FDI said that the 188th armored brigade, which currently operated in the Morag corridor, had killed more than 40 terrorist agents and destroyed many weapons, as well as a Hamas van.

In the Shaboura de Rafah camp, the army said that the troops of the Givati brigade and the Yahalom combat engineering unit of Givati were and demolished a trapped tunnel. The tunnel was hundreds of meters long, according to the IDF.
Givati’s troops have located many other weapons in the region, added the FDI.

The war in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, when some 5,000 terrorists led by Hamas invaded southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, killing some 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages in the midst of acts of brutality and sexual assault.
Terrorist groups of the Gaza Strip still hold 59 hostages – 24 of which are considered alive, and 35 of which were confirmed dead – including 58 of the people kidnapped on October 7.
According to the Ministry of Health managed by Gaza, more than 50,000 people in the strip have been killed or are presumed to be dead in the fighting so far. The toll cannot be checked and does not make the difference between civilians and combatants.
Israel assesses that he killed around 20,000 fighters in Gaza in January, as well as some 1,600 terrorists inside Israel during the Hamas.
Israel’s toll in offensive and military operations on the ground of Gaza along the border is 410.
