Fabian Edwards did not celebrate very long despite a categorical finish on the former PFL Champion Impa Kasanganay during the main event of the PFL 3 Friday in Orlando.
In a battle between two noted attackers, Edwards immediately set the tone when he started throwing smooth elbows, inside the elbows that continued to catch Kasanganay out of deprived. During an exchange, Edwards unleashed a elbow that cut the open kasanganay while blood was starting to run over his face.
Between the tours, the doctor had to check the massive entrance on Kasaganay’s face, but the fight was authorized to continue.
While Kasanganay had his moments, including a short punch that cut Edwards after an accidental head confrontation, the double challenger of the average weight title Bellator continued to find openings to get his best shots. The finishing sequence started with a perfectly timed blow that immediately won Kasanganay and that was all Edwards needed to rush to find the KO.
Edwards launched a dam of punches that melted Kasangany and sent him on the canvas with the referee who saved him while the fight ended at 2:14 in the second round. After taking advantage of a moment with his brother Leon Edwards in the cage, Fabian turned his attention to his next opponent Josh Silveira, who was also victorious earlier in the night.
“I feel good but the work is not done,” said Edwards about his victory. “One down, two others to do. I can’t be too happy. PFL, you should have elbowed a long time ago.”
In the Co-Princhipal event, the PFL 2024 champion Gadzhi Rabadanov continued his reign of terror in the light division after having demolished the veteran of the UFC Marc Diakiese in just 32 seconds.
The fight barely started when Diakiese launched a kick that Rabadanov caught before tripping his opponent and bringing the fight to the ground. From there, Rabadanov has just started to unload any punches successively and the Diakiese did not know what struck him before he fell soft from damaging shots.
It was an astonishing sequence with Rabadanov securing another direct elimination victory while going forward in the PFL tournament where he now faces Jay-Jay Wilson in the second round.
Dalton Rosta dominated and finally finished the veteran of the PFL Sadibou Sy in a declaration performance while he was advancing in the average weight tournament. While Sy is well known for her striking sense, it was Rosta who cut him with a hard punch in the second round which finally ended with the fighters on the ground.
Constantly attacking with punches and attempted submission, Rosta finally saw an opening to hang on to an Arce strangulation. Once he tightened his grip, there was no escape and that Sy fell unconscious of strangulation, which stopped the fight.
Jay-Jay Wilson hit his ticket for the semi-finals of the light tournament after a punitive performance against Mads Burnell. As he headed for a unanimous victory, Wilson continued to move away until he was trapped Burnell below and just started to drop bombs.
Each punch landed, Burnell is a little more and Wilson does not slow down until the referee does not remove it. It was an impressive performance because Wilson overwhelmed Burnell, then finally obtained the arrival at the end of the third and last round.
In the opening fight on the main map, Alfie Davis surprised the PFL veteran on several occasions Clay Collard with a perfectly timed beam of rotation that fell for it in the head. Collard was immediately flickering, but he still managed to continue to come despite his abandonment momentarily.
It was a short -term survival, however, when Davis continued to explode the Collard with punches until the referee Blake Grice saw enough to stop the competition at 2:12 in the first round.
