At this point, it is not a secret for anyone that Luka Doncic wanted to start and end his career with the Dallas Mavericks; In fact, it was so upset that he had been exchanged at the Los Angeles Lakers in February that he launched his phone when he learned the news, as was revealed in an interview with Malika Andrews of ESPN on Friday.
Such a reaction was not supposed to be a blow on the Lakers, pay attention to you; Dononic really liked Dallas, and he hoped to stay with the long -term team. But things have now changed. And it seems that Luka, after a stellar regular start to the season with the, would like to stay at La Land in the predictable future.
The question of whether the Donnic, 26, would remain in Los Angeles has been a question since the drop in trade. Most teams would like it, so it is not as if he would not have his choice if he preferred elsewhere. And his agreement is in place at the end of the 2026-20 season, although he can withdraw at the end of the next one. But asked flat (or rather from an answer) by Andrews during the interview on Friday, Doncic clearly put speculation in bed.
“Staying in Los Angeles is what you want to do,” Andrews, half-time, said, to which Dononic clearly replied: “Yes”.

Dononic also briefly commented on the director general of Mavericks, Nico Harrison, during the conversation, describing the “way in which he is talking about at the moment” as “sad”.
“I never say anything wrong about it. And I just want to continue,” he continued. “Fans, my ex -teams always keep things hard – it’s time for me to move on.”
Overall, it was not an easy split for Donic. But he manipulated it like a champion, and could very well that the Mavericks wish to be able to recover it. For all useful purposes, he won the rupture.
