Stephen A. Smith apologized to the owner of Phoenix Suns, Mat Ishbia, for his remarks after the team’s catastrophic season.
Smith took the task of Ishbia for the situation in the Salt River valley recently, and even if the 45 -year -old man only bought the team in 2022, the ESPN host always painted him as a historic failure.
“Mat Ishbia must understand that at the moment, you are about to be recognized as the worst owner of basketball history,” said Smith recently.
This comment put Ishbia in a category with Donald Sterling, who was forced to sell the Los Angeles clippers on racist statements, and Robert Sarver, whose own scandals led him to sell the Suns to Ishbia.
After Ishbia fled Smith for being “disrespectful”, the latter went back for mentioning Ishbia in the same breath as Sterling. However, he was held in his declaration on his performance as a owner.
“Mat Ishbia is absolutely right. I owe him excuses because I mentioned Donald Sterling: “Smith opened his remarks. “I thought I was clearly showing up that I was talking about basketball.

“I certainly did not want to compare it to a person who was expelled from this league and who was largely recognized as a racist. I should not have mentioned the name of Ibshia in the same breath as Donald Sterling in this regard: “The first host continued.
“I was not talking about this Donald Sterling. I was talking about Donald’s sterling which would be the edge of the court, his own D *** players and never win anything and who did not care. It is the Donald Sterling that I was talking about. With the way he was ineffective as an owner on the basketball court.
“I certainly didn’t want to do that. So Matt Ishbia is right and for that, I apologize, “said Smith. “I am a man, if I am wrong, I will say that I am wrong.
“Unfortunately for you sir, it’s the only thing that deceives me,” he concluded, looking at the camera.
Ishbia spoke Thursday after what he described as an “embarrassing season” – a 36-46 campaign that ended with the dismissal of coach Mike Budenholzer earlier in the week. Now, despite a list that includes Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, Ishbia is expected to hire the team’s fourth head coach in as many years.
During her remarks, Ishbia gave her opinion on Smith given back and forth between them.

Ishbia thinks that the goalkeeper of the Suns Devin Booker remains one of the real players of the League League
“Stephen A. Smith?” The billionaire mortgage tycoon and the former Michigan state leader asked journalists. “I don’t take it seriously, and honestly, I don’t think many do it.”
Ishbia also mentioned Smith’s past criticism of the current league stars before returning to his own royal quarrel with sports expertise.
“The things he said about Kevin during, simply bad and disrespectful,” said Ishbia. “The things he said about LeBron James, just disrespectful and inappropriate. That being said, I don’t really think Stephen A. believes what he said.
“I think he is doing his thing, he’s at the microphone and … I think he will apologize to me because he is disrespectful to put my name aligned with anyone who was expelled from the league or more part (from the league).”
The team is likely to move during the offseason before being 37 years old in September, but Ishbia is publicly favorable to Booker, who is only 28 years old despite an entire decade in the NBA.
Regardless of what their list looks like next season, Ishbia has promised fans “we will win a championship”.
