The master plan of Nico Iamaleava to receive more zero money explodes in his face.
The volunteer quarter of a quarter-back has more than $ 2 million to come from Tennessee this season before choosing to enter the spring transfer portal in the hope of a larger case elsewhere.
Iamaleava now considers UCLA as its next destination, but for much less money – and even it is far from being concluded.
The transfer of Iamaleava to the UCLA has not yet been official after Colin Cowherd of FS1 was the first to point out that the native of Long Beach returned home in southern California to become a bruin.
While various points of sale have sought to confirm the news, Chris Low of ESPN later reported that “the UCLA is among the schools interested in Iamaleava” and that the Bruins are “satisfied to” sit tight “while Aamaleava considered its options.”
Well, his options could decrease.
Of its three best schools earlier this week, the UCLA seems to be the last showing interest after Tulane and North Carolina moved in different directions.
“We will see if it happens,” said the source of the Low UCLA. “He is extremely talented with an experience of starting against elite competition. It is in a way where we are currently.”
Iamaleava would have sought to regain its zero contract with the Tennessee collective before the winter transfer portal. This resulted in missing practice improvising last week before Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said the program was going to go ahead without the Red Redans quarter.
Iamaleava’s father, Nic Iamaleava, was reported as an important factor behind his son’s decisions.
If Iamaleava is officially found at the UCLA, the price may not please the family.
“Iamaleava wanted at least $ 4 million in Tennessee,” said Low. “What the UCLA was ready to offer it was not close to this figure.”
With the prudent ESPN approach to the relationships and what seems to be a disconnection concerning the value of the quarter, it seems that Cowherd could have skipped the weapon with its latest news.
And it would not be the first time that an Iamaleava-T-Ucla commitment has been going through, because Nico’s younger brother, Madden, was attached to Bruins in high school before returning to Arkansas very late in the recruitment process.
Until the publication of official reports, it is sure to say that the saga of Iamaleava is anything but finished.
