IRVINE – The volleyball program Beckman Boys had a long period of power in the League among the schools of the Irvine region, but this season, the Patriots have become a member of the South Coast League.
And despite the change, they are a victory to claim another League title.
Beckman beat Tesoro in four sets, 25-13, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, Thursday evening at Beckman High.
The Patriots (27-5, 6-1) will again face the Titans on Tuesday, April 22 in the regular season final with a league championship at stake.
San Clemente has a 7-1 sheet in the league after swallowing Alison Niguel on Thursday.
Beckman coach Darin McBain admitted that this week had been difficult for his team, and he referred to Wednesday’s defeat against Newport Harbor, but he liked the way his players rebounded on Thursday.

The Titans (14-12, 4-3) were exploded in the first set but released strong in the second set, but Beckman moved away from Gavin Looney, who succeeded in 18 striking attacks, and Stanford hired Luke Morrison, who added 16 striking attacks.

But the child is just such a good child, as if he were respectful and he is nice and he has incredible notes. And I mean, he is all you can ask in one person, not just a volleyball player.”
McBain hopes to improve certain aspects before Tuesday’s revenge on Tuesday
“We will reset, take a few days off, but on Monday in training, we will have to work on two things on which we have been absolutely exposed today,” he said. “Their right sides have probably reached 0.800 or 0.900, we have not stopped them more than once or twice, so it will be a main objective.”
“Their environment, number 13 (Finn Smith) had an excellent match,” continued McBain. “He separated us, so we have to find strategies to slow down these guys.”
When he was asked how he would feel to win a sixth consecutive league title and first in his new more difficult league, McBain shared his ambitions and gratitude for the opportunity.
“We arrived by thinking that we were slaughtered to win this league and our great victory against San Clemente a few weeks ago put us online, but we still have work to do, for sure.” Said McBain. “This is special because it is a goal that we set for ourselves. We have other objectives that we have, a little higher, but it is obviously the first goal that we have in our minds and thus to reach a goal, but I am really delighted to play on the road in a match that we must win with something on the line to see, you know. We must prepare for the elimination series.”
