At the closure of a door, another may have just opened.
After Lamar Wilkerson left Indiana’s table, some wondered if the Kentucky Wildcats would be able to get a larger shooter out of the transfer portal to complete what looks like a list capable of another deep race in the elimination series.
Well, it turns out that a very intriguing option is now back in the portal.
On 3 Thursday, Joe Tipton of ON3 reported thatrej Stojakovic reintegrated the transfer portal with a label “ Not to contact ”, noting that he may already know his next destination. This is the second time that the son of the great NBA Peja Stojakovic has been going to have a portal in recent years.
As a real recruit to Stanford (while they were still in PAC-12), Stojakovic appeared in 32 games, with an average of 7.8 points out of 40.9% shooting, including a clip of 32.7% on 3 points in 22.3 minutes per match. He also collected 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per exit.
After entering the portal during the 2024 offseason, Mark Pope and the Kentucky made a strong push for Stojakovic. However, the native of California chose to stay in the state and engaged in the Bears Golden of Cal.
Last season, former McDonald’s All-American appeared in 29 games, with an average of 17.9 points out of 42.7% shooting (31.8% on deep), 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks in 33.4 minutes per competition. His best match of the season saw him score 30 points (11/15 shooting) during a loss on the road against Clemson. He also scored 26 points (shooting 9/13) during a loss of road in Missouri.
Stojakovic was in a similar situation because Jaland Lowe was a Pitt, both being quality guards in bad teams with high rates of use and not receiving many quality shots, leading to figures of efficiency lower than average. The hope is that Lowe will flourish with a much better support casting in Lexington, and that would be the hope of Stojakovic if the Kentucky returns.
We will see.
