San Diego police arrested a driver on Thursday as part of a deadly flight offense that killed a pedestrian in a Hills Mission Street last month.
Police said they arrested William Christian, 58, who said it was driving a white car when he hit the pedestrian. The suspect’s vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Challenger Dodge with California 7WWM511 license plate, was not located, police said.
The victim was walking in the middle of Hancock Street near Estudillo Street shortly before 5 am on March 6 when he was hit by a car heading south, said the police sergeant. Victoria Houseman. The driver failed to stop and leave after the collision.
The 69 -year -old pedestrian was taken to the hospital, but died of his injuries. His name was not published. Houseman said that the man may have been homeless and that she did not know if his family had been informed.
Christian was arrested on Thursday on Prior Street near his home, less than half a million in the deadly collision scene. He was sentenced to county prison, suspected of crime crime and was detained instead of a deposit of $ 100,000, according to the prison archives.
