Lucy MarkovicA model whose star has increased Australian’s next top modelis dead, confirmed his relatives. She was 27 years old.
“Dear friends and family, I regret informing you that Lucy has passed,” read a shared message to Lucy’s Instagram history on April 10. “She was at peace. Me, her mother and mother were present with her.”
The message continued: “We ask you to give us space in these difficult times. May Lucy rest in peace. “
According to Lucy’s modeling agency in New York, Elite Model Management, the young model died “after a courageous battle” with an arteriovenous malformation of the brain (AVM). According to the Mayo clinic, an AVM is “a tangle of blood vessels which creates irregular ties between the arteries and the veins in the brain”.
Australia Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reports that Lucy wrote on social networks on her condition last month, in an article that has since been deleted, in which she shared with the followers, the AVM was “the size of a golf ball”. The position noted that it had been planned to undergo surgery on March 26, but that it was postponed to April 2.
