Alex Ovechkin became the new King of NHL goals on Sunday. Now he may also be the new drip king of the league.
Thursday, before the “GR8 pre-match ceremony” of the capital ”, the Bleacher report published photos of the personalized Ovechkin costume of the talented Tom Barnett Creator.
The layer of navy blue suit has spectacular details that make the room a real one – perfect for the incomparable hockey player who will wear it.
The lining of the inner costume presents the face of Ovechkin in red, surrounded by goal washers designating all the teams against which he scored for each of his 895 accounts. The rear of the collar is red and has GR895 sewn in white. The Barnett label presents the Ovechkin personal shield made by Nike.
Ovi wore the match costume and took photos on the team’s goals that the throne honoring him.
Barnett also designed the Ovechkin gray costume he wore when he flew to Long Island before his record match against the New York Islanders on April 6, 2025.
The designer based in Buffalo, New York, was also the man behind the Ovechkin GR802 costume. The lining of the inner costume included significant moments in the career and imaging of OVI of his family.
Barnett has made costumes in the past for other NHL players and current capital players like John Carlson and Dylan Strome.
