Angel Cabrera causes a whole trailer at 2025 MastersIsn’t it?
I must say that when I heard that the winner of Green Jacket 2009 was going to win this year, I was not as fast as the others rushing into judgment.
I thought it was better to wait and hear the man himself or even Augusta national before offering my thoughts.
I believe in rehabilitation and by offering a second chance to those who commit very serious offenses.
But after hearing what Cabrera had to say earlier in the week and read between the lines of the full wall of the silence of the green jackets that I decided.
Angel Cabrera should be nowhere near the masters and it is downright shameful that he is authorized to waltz through the door as if nothing happened.
I don’t know about you, but see Cabrera smiling ear by ear during the last champions dinner on Tuesday evening made me feel a little sick.

Many people make mistakes and lose their freedom. Many people ask for forgiveness. Many people have remorse.
But ask yourself, do you think your current employer would offer you the same second chance if you had been convicted of having beaten women?
Absolutely not.
Angel Cabrera served his time and I do not say that he should not be allowed to live his life quietly.
But that is all that should be extended to Cabrera and it should be miles from one of the first sporting events in the world.
Angel Cabrera
Because the masters is more than a simple golf tournament.
It is played on the sacred field of Augusta National and it is supposed to be a celebration of the highest excellence, tradition and standards of integrity.
Thus, the very idea that a domestic aggressor should be welcomed is not only wrong but an absolute bloody shame.
Angel Cabrera was not falsely accused. He was found guilty of appalling acts after being on the run to try to escape justice.
Take a look at these comments made by his victims and ask yourself whether or not a place on the field is this week:
“From the start of our relationship, Ángel constantly called me by asking me where I was and what I was doing.
“In the months following the start of the relationship, attacks, insults and threats began.
“I couldn’t go to the supermarket or to the gymnasium.
“Ángel has always believed that I was going to be with another man. He followed me and took my mobile phone.
“When he traveled, I stayed at home, and when he returned, I went to his. We were rarely distant at the start of the relationship.
“Ángel forbids me to see my brother Cristian because he feared that Cristian presents me with a friend.
“From the moment he met my family, he would not let me see them. I couldn’t visit my mother, who died of cancer, because I could meet someone else.
“Sometimes, Ángel called me a video when he was on tour, and I had to show it where I was and with whom I was. I started to feel very anxious and muffled.
“He made me do very crepudes and struck me if I refused.
“If Ángel was with his friends at a meeting, I had to be in the room without internet connection. It was very humiliating. – Cecilia Torres Mana (via Orato)
The trauma he inflicted on his former partners will be with them for the rest of their lives.
How does he sleep the night?
Augusta National has long fought against questions of exclusion, image and reform.
Authorizing the return of Cabrera is a giant step behind.
This decision endangers the masters of a meaningful tournament to a hollow and deaf spectacle.
And the one where skills prevail over human decency.
