Staten Island, NY – Millions of Americans who rely on the advantages provided by the Social Security Administration to pay their bills have recently received fear.
The administration has experienced widespread errors and problems while working to revise its obsolete technology, while directing more online beneficiaries and being forced to cut the staff, which means that there are now fewer employees capable of solving problems as they arise, according to a CNN report.
In one case, millions of people who receive the additional security income from the Social Security Administration, which is separate from retirees, received a message that they did not currently receive payments, the Washington Post reported.
Although the message sparked among millions of Americans, it turned out to have been sent by mistake, the recipients later confirming that their payments arrived on time.
Other recent problems include the inability of recipients to access their online accounts and a problem that forced the staff to cancel the appointments because they could not seize new disability complaints.
“These are the risks,” said a former Social Security employee in CNN. “You lose personnel who has institutional knowledge, and when something happens, you cannot recover, or you need much more time to recover. The involvement is that American people get degraded services on the technological side because people are under-employed.”
The Washington Post reported that many recent problems seem to come from new anti-fraud software implemented by the Elon Musk government ministry, which has not been tested on a large scale and could not manage the high volume of users that the Social Security website sees at any time.
