A 13 -year -old passenger died on Wednesday April 9, a few days after a single chili vehicle accident in Santa Ana who killed four others.
The teenager was hospitalized after the accident on Saturday and placed on life support and said the dead brain on Tuesday, according to Santa Ana’s police service. Police said on Wednesday, “she” died of her injuries “. She was a student at Carr Intermediate School.
Four people in the car were declared dead on the scene, including three students at Santa Ana Valley high school.
The victims were previously identified as Emmanuel Gonzalez, 18, who was the driver, and the Natalia Vidale Zarate passengers, 17; Jacqueline Torres Zarate, 16 and Arely Robles, 20, according to the Coroner office of the County of Orange. Officials have not publicly identified the 13 -year -old girl.
A 15 -year -old Santa Ana student survived and stayed hospitalized, the police saying that she was stable.
The accident occurred around 11:25 p.m., when the driver of a gearious lexus sedan seemed to lose control at a turn on the road near Segerstrom avenue and rue Townsend. The car struck a palm on a central median near Carl Thornton Park, police said.
When officials of Orange County Fire Authority arrived, three of the passengers were ejected from the car and the driver and two other passengers were trapped in the car.
Detectives examine if drugs and alcohol played a role in the accident.
