“Ukraine has its vision of the deployment of these forces which will act as security guarantees. All these questions must still be discussed, agreed and verified at political and military levels,” said Palisa.
Ukraine also believes that all Western troops sent to Ukraine would be accompanied by vast air defenses and other protective measures that will also help ensure the safety of Ukrainians.
“For example, if a French brigade enters a certain territory area, even if it is deployed with minimal density – for example, three soldiers per kilometer – it will always have to provide air coverage. It is a military planning standard,” said Palisa. A brigade has 3,000 to 5,000 soldiers.
And this means more air defense systems, electronic warfare capacities, more coordinated interaction with aviation, protection for all foreign naval forces, reliable logistics, etc.
“This is a complex problem that requires careful planning, taking into account many factors. This is what is being worked,” said Palisa.
One day after the coalition of the voluntary meeting, NATO welcomes the Ukraine defense contact group, a grouping created by the Americans to organize military aid for Ukraine. The United Kingdom and Germany will preside over and the US Secretary for Defense, Pete Hegseth, will join via teleconference.
