Netflix has set a first date for The seafrontThe new drama of Kevin Williamson which marks his return to television and to North Carolina.
The family dramatic series that features Melissa Benoit, Mario Bello, Holt McCallany and Jake Weary take place on June 19 on the streamer. It takes place more than eight episodes.
Here is the official line line of the series: for decades, the Buckley family ruled Havenport, in North Carolina, dominating everything, from the local fishing industry to the city’s restaurants. But their fishing empire began to collapse while Patriarch Harlan Buckley (McCallany) recovers two heart attacks, and his Belle wife (Bello) and his son Cane (tired) venture into the background to keep family businesses afloat. While their attempts go out beyond control and in perfidious waters, Harlan returns to take command. Faced with his own demons, Buckley Daughter Bree (Benoist) – a recovery drug addict who lost custody of his son – finds himself entangled in a complicated relationship that could threaten the future of the family forever.
The series is inspired by real events and takes place in the context of North Carolina, where Williamson fired Dawson’s Creek.
The seafront was announced as part of the first start of Netflix last year in New York.
