The New York Yankees Voltueur, Cody Bellinger, swore chicken wings for five years after his recent fight with food poisoning.
Bellinger announced his decision on Wednesday, two days after consuming chicken wings at room service at the Hotel of the Yankees team in Detroit while he was watching the National Championship match of the NCAA tournament.
Bellinger said they were traditional wings, without sauces, spices or friction.
“They were good to come,” said Bellinger on Wednesday. “But I woke up at 4 am by sweating and I just started vomiting for a few hours. It was a difficult morning.”
So much so that Bellinger broke the New York match on Tuesday against Tigers with food poisoning.
“I can say that I will not eat wings for five years,” said Bellinger. “I swear. Because the thought of that makes me badly sick.”
Bellinger, 29, was good enough to return to programming for the final of the series on Wednesday afternoon against the Tigers.
“I feel good today,” he said. “I slept a ton last night. My only time before, it was 24 hours, so I’m just hydrated and I’m preparing to play.”
