Authorities have identified five people killed during recent traffic accidents in the County of San Diego.
The last one took place late on Sunday afternoon, when Mark Maisel, 70, from San Diego, was hit by a vehicle on Brookburn Drive in Carmel Valley while he and his wife walked their dog near their home, according to the Bureau of the ComtĂ©’s Legalist.

Two days earlier, a collision on the state 94 of the state in Lemon Grove fatally injured a motorist, reported the county agency. Edward Ames, 77, was heading west on the highway shortly after 5 p.m. Friday when the SUV Ford he was driving made the left turn near Massachusetts Avenue, hit a van, overturned and rolled on the side several times before resting on the road.
Souls, homeless, died about an hour later at Scripps Mercy hospital in Hillcrest, officials said.
Around 3:30 am, Thursday, Sahil Bajaj, 34, of San Diego, was found seriously injured in a lucid sedan who had crushed off the 94 state in the west on a embankment near Route 15 of the State in the region of Fairmount Park, according to the medical examiner. Bajaj died on the scene.
Earlier, another homeless died in a traffic accident in the county of San Diego, the county agency reported.
Ryan Szelagowski, 38, was held on the pavement of Carlsbad Boulevard in Carlsbad when a Kia sedan in northern direction struck him around 4:55 last Wednesday. After the impact, he was able to get up and was hit by another vehicle walking on the road. The person driving the second car continued to drive and left the area.
An ambulance team took Szelagowski to the Memorial Hospital of Scripps La Jolla, where he was declared dead early this afternoon.
On March 31, a 30 -year -old man was found dead on Interstate 5 south of Las Pulgas Road in the Oceanside region, according to the county agency. The death of Marcos Mauro, whose community of residence is unknown, was discovered shortly before dawn that day, after a Chevrolet van in northern direction has struck something that he did not see on the roadway, and the driver stopped to investigate.
In response to the driver’s 911 call, the emergency teams checked the area and found Mauro’s body around 5 a.m. alongside a central dividor wall on the highway, the medical examiner reported.
