A fear of health – especially as major as cancer – can certainly refocuse and refocus priorities. This seems to be exactly what happened in the case of Prince William and Kate Middleton after Kate was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of 2024, suffered chemotherapy and finally announced in January of this year that she is in remission.
Wales’ princess cancer seems to be in a good place now, but the road was not clear and difficult for most of last year. In the aftermath of such a terrifying diagnosis, William apparently increased his romance game, seeing this new chapter as a “second chance” with Kate, with whom he has been since more than two decades since her meeting in 2001 as a student at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. (Although they were together much longer, the couple will celebrate 14 years of wedding later this month.)

“His big goal was to make the most of their time and this second chance of living together,” added the source. “It means more romantic dinners, longer walks and more vacation.” Example? The family of five people from Wales – William, Kate, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – are currently on an Easter break of several weeks, and the new year that has traveled in places such as the Alps (for skiing) and Mustic (for the whirlwinds of the sun in the Carribbeas).

The couple “even talks about returning to the Seychelles, where they had the honeymoon,” continued the source.
King Charles, for his part, supports William and Kate with his “full support” and is fully on board with “William taking time for his family so that Kate can recover”, by Cosmopolitan. After all, Charles includes the shock of a cancer diagnosis – he was also diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of 2024 following a procedure at the London clinic in January.
