Jay North, an actor child who portrayed the holder in the popular sitcom “Dennis the threat”, has died. He was 73 years old.
North died at her home in Lake Butler, Florida, Sunday after fighting colon cancer, the longtime friend Laurie Jacobson, wrote in an article on Facebook on April 6.
“As many of his fans know, he had a difficult trip to Hollywood and after … but he did not let him define his life,” wrote Jacobson. “He had a heart as large as a mountain, deeply loved his friends. He called us frequently and put an end to each conversation with “I love you with all my heart”. And we liked it with all ours.
She continued: “We will miss it terribly. He’s out of pain now. His suffering is over. Finally, he is at peace. ”
Other former children’s stars paid tribute to the north on social networks.
“Very sad to learn that an old friend, Jay North, has died,” wrote Barry Livingston, actor of “My Three Sons”, Barry Livingston.
“Lassie’s” Jon Provost also cried the death of North, calling him “original and dear friend”.
“I have known Jay for almost 70 years, now you can rest in peace Jay,” wrote Provost on Facebook. “It was not as easy for you as for some of us, not that it is a piece of cake that is sure, but you suffered much more than most. You were a great guy Jay and you miss all of my heart, but I know you are in peace now.”
Born on August 3, 1951 in Hollywood, California, North was 6 years old when he heard for the first time for “Dennis the threat”.
He was 8 years old when the show was broadcast for the first time in October 1959 and 12 when he was canceled after four seasons in 1963.
North said in an interview from 1993 with The Hollywood Reporter that he was not unhappy to see the end “Dennis the threat”.
“Between the pressures of the company and Joe’s Dying, I became very serious, very morbid and very withdrawn from the world. I was the antithesis of the little child that I played in the television show,” North said at the point of sale.
Often wearing a striped shirt and bump, the mischievous puffonries of Dennis often frustrated his retired neighbor George Wilson, played by Joseph Kearns. Dennis patients were played by Herbert Anderson and Gloria Henry.
Later, North appeared on television in programs such as “The Man From Untle”, “The Lucy Show”, “My Three Sons”, “Lassie” and “The Simpsons” and in films such as “Maya” (1966) and “The Teacher” (1974).
More recently, North worked with Paul Petersen in the organization of the former child’s actor, a minor consideration. Northern work involved using their own experiences to help old childhood stars manage real life.
North was also a correctional agent in Florida; And appeared in the 2003 film “Dickie Roberts: former Child Star”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
North leaves to mourn his third wife, Cindy, and three stepdaughters.
