Seoul (Reuters) -Samsung Electronics on Tuesday reported on Tuesday a 0.2% drop much smaller than the drop in the first quarter, stimulated by sales of solid memory fleas and high demand for smartphone, partly motivated by customers concerned by American prices.
Sales of conventional memory fleas used in consumption devices such as smartphones and AI chips are probably better than expected, some customers storing fleas before potential American prices on semiconductors, analysts said.
The largest flea manufacturer in memory in the world estimated an operating profit of 6.6 Billions of Wons for the period in January-March, well above a 5.1 Billions Weg Wseg Smartestimat.
This would be compared with 6.61 won billions during the same period a year earlier and 6.49 Billions of Wons during the previous quarter.
“Although the general prices of memory have dropped, the high demand from customers who seek to secure stocks before the potential prices of the United States have helped to stimulate Samsung memory flea expeditions, supporting overall performance,” said Greg Roh, research manager at Hyundai Motorities.
Samsung, reworking its best ranks after the sudden death of Co-PDG Han Jong-Hee last month, should publish detailed results, including a profit break for each of its companies on April 30.
Last week, US President Donald Trump announced a multitude of reciprocal prices on business partners, including China. While semiconductors were exempt from reciprocal prices, Trump reiterated the plans on Thursday to perceive prices on tokens very soon.
ROH said that Samsung AI’s features in Galaxy S25 smartphones have helped generate solid sales, adding that preventive smartphones expeditions by North American customers before prices have probably contributed to the first quarter results.
Analysts noted that Samsung smartphones expeditions increased in the first quarter, partly by preemptive expeditions to certain channels, which they say were made in anticipation of American rates and, consequently, shipments should decrease in the second quarter.
Samsung Electronics in January unveiled its new Galaxy S25 smartphones, hoping that their improved AI features could invigorate sales and push the rivals of apple and Chinese.
SK HYNIX from South Korea The second manufacturer of MEMORY FROM THE MONDE PUCES, said last month that some customers had made orders in preparation for new American prices, but were suspicious of reversal of sustained demand.
Micron technology in March has planned the third quarter income above Wall Street estimates, reporting high demand for its high bandwidth (HBM) chips used in AI models.
