A pedestrian died Sunday evening after being hit by a vehicle in a district of Carmel Valley, police announced.
The accident, which involved a sport utility vehicle, was reported at 8:09 p.m. on Brookburn Drive near Amondwood Way.
The driver of the vehicle, according to the police, remained on the scene.
