Atlanta Braves Voltueur, Jorickson PROFAR, was tested positive for prohibited MLB substances, according to reports.
Former San Diego Padres star received a suspension of 80 games after testing a drug improving the league performance, said initiate MLB Mike Rodriguez.
Jon Heyman later reported that the prohibited drug in question was human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) – a hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy.
PROFAR recognized the suspension in apologies to fans of brave, but denied having gladly taken the prohibited substance.
“Today is the most difficult day of my baseball career,” he wrote in a statement on Monday evening. “I am devastated to announce that I was suspended for 80 games by Major League Baseball and the commissioner’s office, for having tested positive for a prohibited substance.
“It is particularly painful for me because anyone knows me and who saw me play knows that I am deeply passionate about the game. There is nothing that I like more than competing with my teammates and being a favorite of fans.

“I want to apologize to the whole brave organization, my teammates and fans. It is because of my deep love and my respect for this game that I would never knowing nothing knowingly to deceive him.
“I have been tested all my career, including eight times last season only, and I have never been tested positive. I would never gladly take a prohibited substance, but I take full responsibility and accept MLB’s decision.
“I am devastated not to be on the field with my teammates for the next 80 games. I can’t wait to materialize at the highest level this season on my return.
The ban comes at only four games in the 2025 Braves season – the first of 32 years with the franchise.
PROFAR signed a three -year contract worth $ 42 million with Atlanta when its long free agency ended in January.
The contract came after a season of small groups with the Padres, in which Profar struck .280 / .380 / .459 (134 ops +) with 24 circuits, which earned it its first star sign last year.
However, the Braves were swept away by the former Profar team in their first series of four games last week.
