- I am Maximus is currently among the favorites for the Grand National 2025
- The French girlfriend won the famous national hunting race in Aintree last year
- Paul Townend told Willie Mullins that he was “ very happy ” with I am Maximus
Willie Mullins received a brilliant evaluation from Paul Townend before I Am Maximus’ attempt to join an exclusive club when he was preparing his battalion for the Grand National Randox.
Mullins was able to set up a successful challenge for the British coach championship 12 months ago thanks to three brilliant days in Aintree which culminated in I Am Maximus justifying the 7/1 favoritism in Townend in the Great Course.
I am Maximus has not shown a lot of sign of life in two points so far this season, because it was fired in Leopardstown at Christmas, then finished eighth in Irish Gold Cup; These two races were won by the Galopin des Champs and, on each occasion, it was assembled by Jody McGarvey.
But Townend will be back in the saddle next Saturday in Aintree – he played a decisive role in the swinging victory of the Hong last April – and a work that made Townend at the Closutton database of Mullins during the weekend, I indicated that I am in the right form in his quest for the potential of the last Tiger Roll of Tiger.
“All horses, if they arrive in the national, will present themselves,” said Mullins, who has seven entries. “ I am Maximus, Nick Rockett, meeting Desthewaters – They all did their last work on Saturday and we are very satisfied with everyone.

“Paul is very happy with I am Maximus. He came down with him with a big smile on his face after work and that means that he is back where Paul wants.
“There is no Inothewayurthinkin (winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup), but I’m sure there will be something else. Whatever happens, he promises to be a big race.
Nicky Henderson, meanwhile, questioned if Sir Gino – his brilliant novice hunter – will again run as he continues his slow rehabilitation of the infection that excluded him from the Cheltenham Festival and almost won the five -year life.
“It is not guaranteed that he will come back, in no case,” said Henderson, who will aim to win the Grand National for the first time with his Hyland and Chantry House entrances. His team for Liverpool will be led by Constitution Hill in Aintree Hurdle on Thursday.
