Toronto (AP) – A Delta Airlines aircraft returned to the arrival at Pearson airport in Toronto on Monday and at least eight people are injured.
The airport has confirmed on X that a “incident” occurred with the Delta flight from Minneapolis and that all passengers and the crew are recorded. A passenger is seriously injured and seven others were also injured, said paramedical paramedics.
The scene video showed the plane upside down on the snowy tarmac while the emergencies serve it. The plane was somewhat obscured by the snow of a winter storm that struck Toronto this weekend.
“The emergency teams respond,” said the airport in an article on the social platform X. “All passengers and crews are recorded.”
Delta declared in a press release that he was “aware of information reporting Endeavour Flight 4819 operating from Minneapolis / St. Paul at Toronto-Pearson International Airport as involved in an incident. »»
Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford said that he was “relieved that there were no victims after Toronto Pearson’s incident”.
“Provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any aid that is necessary,” said Ford.
Toronto is the capital of the province of Ontario.
This is at least the fourth incident of major aviation in North America in the last month. A commercial jetliner and an army helicopter collided near the national capital on January 29, killing 67 people. A medical transport aircraft crashed in Philadelphia on January 31, killing the six people on board and another person on the ground and 10 were killed in a plane crash in Alaska.
