Planemaker Boom makes Sonic Boom pierced, obtains support for Elon Musk
  • Boom Supersonic announced that he could fly faster than the speed of sound without sound boom.
  • Elon Musk supported CEO calls for regulatory changes to allow supersonic flights on Earth.
  • A change in regulation could help the colorado -based transaway to attract more airline customers.

Commercial flights faster than sound speed made another step more and more of reality.

Boom Supersonic announced on Monday that his airliner can fly over Mach 1 without producing a audible sonic boom from the ground.

As Concorde could only steal Supersonic on water, this discovery could lead to a change in aviation laws and the first time allowing national supersonic commercial flights.

Current regulations prohibit planes from piloting Supersonic on land due to the risk of disturbing people of Sonic and harming buildings.

However, Boom’s CEO, Blake Scholl, hopes that business technology – nicknamed Boomless Cruise – can change that.

Elon Musk also expressed his support, responding to Scholl on X: “This administration will get rid of all the regulations that have no sense, like this.”

The Boom without Boom cruise is possible thanks to a physical term called Mach Coupoff.

If the sound barrier is broken at a sufficiently high altitude, the sound waves can mainly turn around in the atmosphere before reaching the ground.

Boom obtained the supersonic flight for the first time last month when his prototype XB-1 struck Mach 1.12 while flying over the Mojave desert.

The company said it has placed the ground microphones along the flight trajectory to confirm that Sonic Booms has not reached the soil.

Scholl said he used technology that was not available in the Concorde era, which started sales department in 1976.

“The cruise without boom requires motors powerful enough to break the sound barrier at an altitude high enough for the boom to have enough altitude to turn around,” he wrote on X. “and weather times In real time and powerful algorithms to predict the propagation of the arrow with precision.

Boom decided to build his own engine, called Symphony, after major manufacturers refused to help. Previously, he had a contract with Rolls-Royce before the latter decided that he did not want to prioritize the commercial supersonic flight.

If the regulations change, the opening of Boom’s Overture could make American flights on one ocean to another 90 minutes faster, said Scholl.

However, he added that Boomless Cruise can only operate between Mach 1.1 and 1.3 – below the top speed of Mach 1.7.

However, Boom’s last breakthrough could bring the supersonic flight closer to be a practical choice for more airlines.

The Colorado -based startup has a 130 order book, with customers including American Airlines and United Airlines.
