The world chess champion will Domomilju Gukesh remain at the top of the ranking after playing a draw against Wei Yi in China at the turn 11 of the Tata 2025 steel tournament in the Netherlands Aan Zee on Friday. GUKESH now has 8 points out of 11 possible in the TATA steel chess tournament and leads second place in R Praggnanandhaa and Nodirbek Abdusattarv of 0.5 points.
Praggnandhaa won a victory over Fabiano Caruana. The notes of Gukesh climbed 16 points and collected 2793 rating points, which is a point less than his best career notation points of 2794 which he reached in October from last year.

Against Wei Yi, Gukesh chose to play the Italian opening and by the fifth blow, the two players ended up hunting. In the eight movement, Gukesh sacrificed the Queen of Wei with QxD8, a movement that persuaded Wei Yi to play RFXD8.
Towards the end of the game, Gukesh and Wei Yi each had a tower, and while Gukesh sought to capitalize with his bishop, Wei Yi did it using his knight. However, none of the players were able to obtain this breakthrough and both agreed.
In the Praggnanandhaa vs Caruana game, the Indian used the defense of Agincourt against the opening in English of Caruana. It was a uniformly moved match until the 32nd move, when the Indian took advantage of Caruana’s error, when he played Qe3, and five movements later, Praggnanandhaa left with victory.
In other games, P Harikrishna beat Alexey Sarana while Leon Luke Mendonca was right for Vladimir Fedoseev. Arjun Erigaisi played a draw against Jorden Van Forest. Divya Deshmukh beat Irina Bulmaga in the Challengers category, while R Vaishali went down to Aydin Suleymanli.
