Putin launched her invasion of Ukraine three years ago this month. Trump said he could end the conflict in one day.
On Sunday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said he could neither confirm nor any contact between Trump and Putin, reported the Russian state news agency Tass. The White House did not comment on the post article.
Peskov said last week that contacts between Washington and Moscow had intensified.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to meet the American vice-president JD Vance at the Munich security conference, which begins on Friday in Germany. Their meeting occurs just after Trump proposed to provide Kyiv security guarantees in exchange for access to critical raw materials and mineral reserves of the country.
In the New York Post interview, Trump also said he wanted to conclude an agreement with Iran on his nuclear program. “If we conclude the agreement, Israel would not bomb them,” said Trump.
