Colin Jost shared his wife Scarlett Johansson’s reaction to his crude joke about her on “Saturday Night Live.”
“I think I’m in trouble with a lot of people,” the comedian said Monday on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” “Scarlett was just so shocked.”
Jost, 42, revealed that although the “Black Widow” star, 40, was “visibly surprised,” the team on the NBC sketch series gave her a warning.
“They were like, ‘Hey, would it be okay if Michael (Che) made a little vagina joke at some point?'” he said. “She said to me, ‘Sure, you know, whatever, I’m open to it.'”
The “peril of pop culture!” » The host confessed that he “didn’t know where this was going, and then the graphic showed up for Arby’s.”
“And so Scarlett is backstage saying, ‘Oh, my God! Is that it?’” he recalls.
Fallon called it a “legitimate live moment,” adding that Jost “wasn’t acting at all.”
“I wasn’t. I can’t perform that well,” the stand-up star responded.
During the Dec. 21, 2024, episode of “SNL,” Jost and Che, 41, read jokes they wrote for each other during their “Weekend Update” segment.
“I want to dedicate this next joke to my darling, Scarlett Johansson,” Jost began hesitantly as the camera cut to his wife, who was watching from backstage.
“No! No! Oh my God, she’s really worried!'” he added, breaking character.
“Hey boo, y’all know Scarlett just turned 40, which means I’m about to get out of here,” the “Fly Me to the Moon” actor continued, unable to control his laughter while Johansson looked confused.
“We just had a child together, and you haven’t seen any pictures of him yet because he’s black as hell.”
After a doctored photo of the “Avengers” star and Jost posing with a black child appeared on screen, the comic couldn’t control his laughter.
Jost also joked about Johansson’s postpartum female roles.
“Costco took their roast beef sandwich off their menu, but I’m not tripping,” he said.
“I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the baby. …No, no, I’m just playing, baby. You know I’m not going into town! Shiz! It’s gay as hell!
ScarJo’s mouth fell open as she listened to her husband’s retorts.
Jost and Johansson met on the set of “SNL” in 2017 and married three years later.
In 2021, they welcomed their son, Cosmo.
The Marvel actress also shares daughter Rose, 10, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac, to whom she was married from 2014 to 2017.
