The Blue Jays finally landed a big fish.
Anthony Santander, one of MLB’s top remaining free agents, has signed a five-year deal with Toronto worth more than $90 million, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed Monday. The agreement includes an option.
The 30-year-old outfielder played parts of eight seasons with the Orioles and is coming off a 2024 season in which he hit a career-high 44 home runs with 102 RBIs while hitting .235 with an .814 OPS .

Santander has 105 homers over the past three seasons and earned his first All-Star nomination last year.
The deal is a sigh of relief for the Blue Jays, who have struggled to attract top free agents north of the border.
They seriously pursued Juan Soto before he signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets, and were recently left at the altar in the Roki Sasaki sweepstakes.

It’s unclear how much of an impact Santander’s deal will have on Pete Alonso, with the Mets currently believing their longtime first baseman will sign elsewhere in free agency.
Toronto was considered one of the top potential destinations for Alonso.
