In his eighth season with the Ravens, All-Pro guard Patrick Ricard says he’s never been part of an offense capable of adapting so quickly, not only from game to game, but from one series to another. No matter the weather conditions or what the Bills throw at them, Ricard believes Baltimore will find answers.
“This is the best combination of running and passing team I’ve ever been a part of,” Ricard said. “The stats show it. Then you have Monken with his schemes, the way he uses moves and shifts to create advantages. Our offensive line keeps guys off the ball. We can do a little bit of everything.
“When you go somewhere with Derrick and Lamar, it can be a long day for any defense.”
The Ravens dominated Buffalo in Week 4 when they won 35-10 at Baltimore, as Henry rushed for 199 yards and Jackson passed for two touchdowns and ran for another. However, the Bills were without starting linebackers Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard and starting corner Taron Johnson, all of whom will play Sunday.
Buffalo is undefeated at home (9-0) this season, and its home-court advantage can become a bigger factor when the weather is frigid. However, Bills head coach Sean McDermott said preparing for Baltimore’s offense isn’t like game planning for another team.
“It’s a unique offense in terms of production and explosiveness,” McDermott told reporters this week. “It’s a great combination, unlike any I’ve seen with Lamar and Derrick Henry. Then you add in the passing game and the rushing game. I think Coach Monken does a phenomenal job of putting these guys in position.”
