The Producers Guild of America has announced its 2025 PGA Awards nominations in the film and television categories.
For the guild’s most prestigious film award, the Daryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Motion Picture Producer, the nominees are Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, A Real Pain, September 5, The Substance And Wicked.
Last year, Oppenheimer won the Zanuck Award before winning the Academy Award for Best Picture. Twelve of the last 15 Best Picture Oscar winners have won the Zanuck Award.
On the television side, the nominated drama series are Bad Sisters, The Diplomat, Fallout, Shogun And Slow horses. The comedy series nominees are Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hacks And Only murders in the building. And the nominees for limited or anthological series are Baby Reindeer, Feud: Capote vs. The swans, the penguin, Ripley And True Detective: Land of the Night.
The guild had originally planned to announce its film and television nominees last Friday, but the announcement was postponed twice, first to Sunday, January 12, and then to “next week” amid the wildfires. raging forest in Los Angeles.
The guild also extended its voting window after the fires that broke out last week, giving its members until Saturday to vote for this year’s candidates.
The Producers Guild also created a fund, in partnership with the Entertainment Community Fund, to support producers affected by the fires.
The guild contributes a portion of net profits from the Producers Guild Awards to the fund and members make a donation, with $300,000 already committed.
The fires caused numerous delays to awards season events. The Critics Choice Awards, originally scheduled for January 12, were also postponed twice, first to January 26 and then to an unannounced later date. As the Grammys and Oscars move forward with their awards ceremonies scheduled for February 2 and March 2, respectively, those celebrations have been cut short and the Oscars have extended the voting window for Academy members to vote for the this year’s nominees, with the announcement of the nominations. postponed twice, first to Sunday January 19 and then to Thursday January 23.
The PGA has already announced nominations in its documentary, sports, children’s and short content categories.
The 36th Producers Guild Awards will be presented, during a ceremony which will also raise awareness of the fund, on Saturday, February 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
