Jessica Alba has officially confirmed her separation from husband Cash Warren.
Alba, who married Warren in 2008, opened up about her decision in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” she began.
“I am proud of how we have grown in our marriage over the past 20 years and now it is time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
With a nod to the couple’s three children, daughters Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7, Alba added: “We move forward with love, kindness and respect for each other. ‘other and will forever be a family. Our children remain our highest priority and we ask for privacy at this time.
Alba, 43, and Warren, 46, were married for 16 years and together for 20 years.
On Wednesday, sources told People that the “Honey” actress had retained the services of a divorce lawyer.
Following the news, an insider said the two were still “friends and caring about the kids.”
“No matter what happens now, it looks like they will stay close,” they added. “If they file for divorce, it’s not because of a hate drama. They always look happy together. Jess has mentioned over the years though that it’s hard to keep the spark alive.
Alba and Warren first met on the Vancouver set of the superhero film “Fantastic Four.”
In the years since, the “Trigger Warning” star has opened up about her union with the producer.
“16 years of marriage, 20 years together and forever… Happy anniversary @cash_warren. I’m proud of us for making it this far,” Alba gushed on Instagram in May.
“There is no real set of rules or advice that can prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to start a family. Against all odds, we continually found our way back to each other and chose each other. Bravo to us, I love you,” she wrote then.
But in recent months, fans have noticed Warren missing from Alba’s outings on several occasions, most recently when the “Good Luck Chuck” actress attended a pre-Golden Globes party earlier this month without his alliance.
Warren was also seen this month without his ring while in Los Angeles.
In a cryptic message on New Year’s Eve, Alba wrote that her 2024 was “filled with connection, growth, adventure, laughter, peace, brotherhood, transformation, rebirth, joy and so much of love.”
But a few days later, the star and Warren joined forces to celebrate Hayes’ 7th birthday at Universal Studios.
“Best day at #UniversalStudios celebrating our 7️⃣ year old, Hayes! Thanks for having us, @unistudios,” the star wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, the duo haven’t been photographed in public together since November, when they sat courtside for a Lakers game at Crypto.com Arena.
