Amanda Palmer is “deeply disturbed” by the sexual assault and abuse allegations against her ex-husband Neil Gaiman, but “she has no comment” on them, a rep said. As several women accused Gaiman of assault and abuse new YorkIn Palmer’s latest cover story, some even suggested that Palmer knew about his behavior and authorized it. (Gaiman has denied the allegations.) A rep for Palmer said NME “Her primary concern is and must remain the well-being of her son,” adding that she would not comment “to protect his privacy.”
Palmer, best known for her band Dresden Dolls, announced her divorce from Gaiman in November 2022 and cited him in another Instagram post on January 15. “As custody and divorce proceedings are ongoing, I am unable to comment publicly.” she wrote. “Understand that I am first and foremost a parent. I ask for privacy at this time.
One of Gaiman’s accusers, Scarlett Pavlovich, was a friend of Palmer’s who later took care of her and Gaiman’s son. Pavlovich eventually told Palmer that Gaiman began having sex with her while she was working and then continued to have sex with her, although Pavlovich did not yet describe it as assault. “Fourteen women have come to me about this,” Palmer responded, according to new York. She allegedly offered her guest room to Pavlovich. “I’ve had to do this before and I can do it again,” Palmer told him. “I will take care of you.”
