The Detroit Lions will begin their 2024-25 playoffs Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on FOX and will face the Washington Commanders.
Although the NFC Wild Card round is not over yet, the Lions are guaranteed to face the Commanders, as they are the lowest seed heading into the second round of the playoffs. With the seven-seed Green Bay Packers eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles, the six-seed Commanders are the lowest remaining team. The Eagles will face the winner of Monday night’s game between the Rams and Vikings.
The last time the Lions and Commanders faced each other was in 2022, when Detroit came away with a 36-27 victory. However, the two teams are noticeably different since this meeting. Most notably, the Commanders have rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, and coach Dan Quinn is in his first year with the Commanders. This year, Washington went 12-5, its best record since 1991 when they last won the Super Bowl.
The Lions’ divisional round playoff game will be broadcast on FOX and FOX Deportes.
