Kelly Ripa makes confession about her three adult children’s relationship after family vacation

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos returned to Live after a week of pre-recorded episodes over the holidays.

Meanwhile, the couple enjoyed some much-needed time off with their family, and they certainly made the most of it!

The couple left with their three adult children, Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21, and Kelly spoke about the dynamic at the start of the episode.

She told the live audience that the journey had been incredible and that they felt so lucky, especially since sometimes with adult children there can be some “BS.”

She said: “We had all three of our children at the same time! Which, as you know, if you’re parents of grown-up children, it’s a very rare thing and we’re very grateful for that. They got along well and there was no… let’s just say BS happens. Sometimes when grown children get together the BS starts to fly. But it was a BS free zone.

Although Kelly and Mark didn’t reveal where they went, it was somewhere very sunny. Mark told viewers he was tanned, while Kelly joked she was paler than before she left due to her fake tan fading.

On New Year’s Eve, the Live Wire author shared several photos of their tropical location on social media, including a beach at sunset and later, an impressive fireworks display at midnight. Their daughter Lola also posted a similar video.

Later in the series, Kelly revealed it was a costume party and she had dressed up for it, with Mark adding she looked “gorgeous”.

The trip would have been even more special for the family since they all live far away from each other.

While Kelly and Mark reside in their Upper East Side townhouse, their eldest son Michael lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn, the neighborhood he moved to after graduating from NYU.

Lola, meanwhile, divides her time between London and New York while focusing on her musical career. Their youngest son, Joaquin, is a student at the University of Michigan and lives in Ann Arbor.

Despite their privileged upbringings, Kelly and Mark’s children are all incredibly down-to-earth.

In a conversation with the Daily Mail about raising her children, Kelly said of their upbringing: “We want to raise productive, thoughtful, selfless people.”

The star added: “I wanted to raise good, caring, generous and thoughtful people, professional, polite, who don’t expect the world to be handed to them.”

That’s not to say Kelly and Mark don’t want to help their kids when they can. In 2022, they gave their son Michael an exciting opportunity when he worked on the Lifetime movie, Let’s Get Physical, backed by their production company, Milojo Productions.

The aspiring actor told People at the time: “I read the script and I really, really liked the character. I thought he was really funny. Plus, you know, I was told offered – and when you’re starting out, when something is offered, you take it. It was a no-brainer for me.
