EXCLUSIVE: We just got a look at the financials behind Amazon’s blockbuster MGM Studios deal to take creative control of the James Bond franchise.

EON Productions, the company controlled by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, filed a U.K. earnings report revealing that Amazon MGM Studios paid $20 million for its stake in 007. Amazon MGM Studios declined to comment.

Here is the full note from EON Productions’ earnings report: “On February 20, 2025, the Company entered into an agreement for the sale of its interest in the Bond franchise, all associated assets as well as its subsidiaries, B24 Limited and B25 Limited. The total consideration for the sale is $20 million (USD).”

That amount is significantly lower than the $1 billion figure announced when the bond deal closed, but as Deadline noted at the time, the structure of the joint venture was unknown and could have included options to buy Amazon stock.

B24 Limited and B25 Limited were the special vehicles through which EON Productions produced Spectrum And No time to die. Another interesting detail in EON’s note is that the deal was finalized on February 20, meaning that the Amazon MGM Studios spy signing went unnoticed for over a month before being announced.

EON Productions’ profits put the company’s turnover at £12.1 million ($16.3 million) last year, £10 million less than in 2023. This was a far cry from the £235 million sales EON recorded in 2021 when the company released No time to dieDaniel Craig’s final turn as a British secret service agent. EON’s pre-tax profit stood at £1.5 million in 2024, rebounding from a loss of £1.2 million the previous year.

The company is home to other productions, including an upcoming reimagining of the Dick Van Dyke family classic. Chitty Chitty Bang Bangwhich is in the works with Amazon MGM Studios. As of last December, Matthew Warchus (Mathilde: the musical) was set to direct the reboot, while Enda Walsh (Little things like these) was on a scenario mission.

Amazon MGM Studios continues development of a new Bond. Dune director Denis Villeneuve will direct, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing. As Deadline reported last month, Villeneuve will embark on the hunt for Bond next year, with sources saying he wants a new British face to take on the role of the super spy.
