Nintendo has announced that the first in-game event for the Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC will begin next week.
The “Chip Fever” event (translated from Nintendo’s Japanese website via Google, so the name may be different in the West) will begin on Tuesday October 28and I will stay until November 4.
Below you can find the exact times the event will start in your area:
- North America: 1:00 a.m. PDT / 2:00 a.m. MDT / 3:00 a.m. CDT / 4:00 a.m. EDT
- UK/Ireland: 8:00 GMT
- Europe: 9:00 a.m. CET / 10:00 a.m. EET
- Asia/Oceania: 5 p.m. JST / 4 p.m. AWST / 7 p.m. AEDT
As the name suggests, “Chip Fever” will offer a chip-focused version of Emerald Rush’s usual format. Participants in this event will need to collect as much ore as possible using only chip-based perks, such as Chip Hoarder or Chip Negotiator.
If you achieve a high score during this event, you will be able to obtain two new figurines for DK Island: Kong Bananza and Enguard. These figures aren’t the most useful additions on their own, but at least they’ll look great in a complete collection.
We had a great time with the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC when it arrived on Switch 2 last month. Emerald Rush’s roguelike mode is a lot of fun and revisiting DK Island brought a lot of smiles, but the whole thing felt a little empty otherwise. Hopefully these in-game events will help beef things up a bit, huh?
