Preparations for the inaugural ceremony are being carried out keeping in mind the presence of the Prime Minister, a senior party source said.
“An invitation for the inauguration of the new party office has been sent to the Prime Minister’s office and it is likely that he will attend, although final confirmation is awaited,” he said.
Besides Prime Minister Modi, senior BJP brass, including party chief JP Nadda, will be present at the function, he added.
The construction work of the new building was already completed and last minute alterations were also made along with necessary legal clearances like occupancy certificate, fire safety, among others, sources said.
The Delhi unit of the BJP currently operates from its headquarters located in a bungalow near Gurudwara Rakabganj on Pandit Pant Marg in Lutyens Delhi.
The new party office building incorporates elements of south Indian architecture, with tall pillars at the entrance and on its façade, party leaders said.
Situated on a plot of 825 square meters, the five-story building comprises 30,000 square feet of built-up area, including the facade, entrance and pillars. It is designed to be environmentally friendly and equipped with modern amenities, they said.
The structure includes two basements for vehicle parking. The ground floor houses a conference hall, reception area and a canteen, while an auditorium with a capacity of 300 people is located on the first floor, they added.
“The new building will solve the problem of accommodating offices of various party organizations and MLAs at the Pant Marg office,” said a senior Delhi BJP leader.
The offices of various cells and staff of the Delhi BJP will be located on the second floor, while the third floor will accommodate the offices of vice-presidents, general secretaries and party secretaries.
The top floor will house the offices of the Delhi BJP president and general secretary (organization), along with rooms for Delhi MPs and state unit in-charges, he added.
