“I have not committed any mistake; my political journey will continue with renewed vigour,” Vijay said.
The police arrested some members of the TVK party for violations that led to the stampede. “You can do anything to me, I will be at home or in the office,” Vijay said, hinting that he is ready for action.
Vijay said he was yet to visit the affected people as his presence there would lead to an “unusual situation”. He added that he had never faced such a “painful situation” in his life. “I did not visit Karur as it would result in an unusual situation. I will meet you (families of victims, injured) soon,” he said in a video message posted on his social media page.
Seeking to hit out at the ruling DMK over the issue, he said, “CM sir, if you intend to take revenge, you can do anything to me and leave the party men untouched.” On the day of the incident, he left Karur in a hurry, concerned about people’s safety, he claimed.
