No. 9 Georgia looks for revenge Saturday afternoon when it hosts No. 5 Ole Miss in a big matchup between two of the SEC’s top programs. The Rebels surprised the Bulldogs at home last season, earning their first win over Georgia since 1995.
Ole Miss also hasn’t beaten Georgia in consecutive seasons in 30 years. The Rebels are one of two SEC teams remaining undefeated, meaning with a win today they will take a sizable lead in the race to the SEC Championship Game. They will also solidify their status as a virtual College Football Playoff player, provided there are no late-season slip-ups.
Georgia, for its part, already has its back a little against the wall. The Bulldogs lost again to Alabama a few weeks ago. Georgia could suffer a second loss — especially against a team of Ole Miss’s caliber — but that would put it behind in the SEC and eliminate its margin for error for the rest of the year.
