Just a few weeks ago, Yang was named head of a team called Answers, Knowledge and Insights, or AKI, which is at the heart of the Siri voice assistant’s overhaul, scheduled for March, according to the report.

Apple, Meta and Yang did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.

Yang has worked at Apple since 2019, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Meta has intensified Silicon Valley’s war for talent by recruiting aggressively to challenge rivals including OpenAI, Google and Anthropic, as tech companies invest significantly in AI in the race for superintelligence.

The company led by Mark Zuckerberg had already poached senior AI executives from the iPhone maker, including Ruoming Pang, as reported by Bloomberg News. Bloomberg News also reported that Robby Walker had left Apple, without specifying a new employer.
