There’s been a lot of talk recently about the next generation of Xbox and the possibility of Microsoft canceling its next-gen console(s), but a new presentation from Hardware Labs suggests that the Xbox team is hard at work on the sequel.

As you can see in the clip below, Xbox’s Sarah Bond gives Good Morning America a tour of the labs and specifically mentions (at 0:41) how it’s the place to design, prototype, and test the next generation of Xbox.

“This is where the team designs, prototypes and tests the next generation of Xbox. It’s a secret…we very rarely have people here.”

Now, if you feel like you’ve heard this kind of story before, that’s because you probably have! Last April, Phil Spencer did exactly the same thing, taking people from the “Today” show to tour the labs.

And again, the narrator at the time mentioned that this was “where the next generation of Xbox is being designed right now.”

So yes, things are happening here! What kind of stuff? It’s a conundrum, even though they’ve already mentioned a next-gen console (or maybe a consoles) is in the works, and we believe they are also working on the Xbox Elite Series 3 controller. No doubt some surprises too!

Hopefully we’ll know more as soon as possible, but it’s clear they’re still investing in hardware at Xbox HQ right now.

What do you think of this? Let us know in the comments section below.
